What Souvenirs to Bring from Saudi Arabia – Supermarkets

I love buying food items in the countries where I travel to. Browsing supermarket stalls and picking things traditional to local cuisine can be exciting and gives great ideas about what to bring back home or give as a present.

I compiled a short list of chain supermarkets in Saudi Arabia, check what you are allowed to import in your home country, find the nearest supermarket and check it out.

A few finds in a recent supermarket visit:

saudi arabesque - dates in supermarket 1

saudi arabesque - arabic instant coffee

Instant Arabic coffee, local and international brands.

saudi arabesque - black seed oil supermarket

Black seed oil in the cosmetics section. Cures all diseases.

saudi arabesque - grinded date seeds

Grinded Ajwa date seeds. I read the back of the package, however didn’t find any indication on how these can be utilized. These packages were displayed in the “dates” section though. I know that grinded date seeds were used instead of grinded coffee, as a less costly alternative. I wonder if these date seeds are grinded finely enough to be used as face exfoliation base (like olive seeds for example).
